About Dr. Thoma

Christopher Thoma, D.C. is a native of central Missouri. He graduated Boonville High School in 1992 and the University of Central Missouri in 1996, where he studied medical technology and was an All-American in the pole vault.

From 1995–1996 he completed a medical technology internship at North Kansas City Hospital. He later worked with the American Red Cross at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia before a long stretch in the family import business with his parents, Jon and Barb Thoma.

In 2012 he moved the family to Wildwood, Missouri, for Logan College. He practiced chiropractic and functional health in West St. Louis County from 2015 to 2023, then relocated to Cody, Wyoming.

“When I was little and individuals asked me what I wanted to be, I would always say a cowboy, a doctor, and an All-American. Adults would tell me I would have to pick one. Well, I am still trying to show them.”

In 2022 he purchased a small ranch outside Cody, in a valley he had passed through in 1988 and announced he would live in someday. He lives on the North Fork with his wife Jennifer and their children, Casper and Sadie. With Jennifer he also owns PuraWell, a separate health-and-wellness company. Using PuraWell products is not a condition of care at this clinic.

Frequently asked

Is Dr. Thoma a chiropractor?
Yes, and the visit is larger than an adjustment. His degree is Doctor of Chiropractic. He also trained in nutrition, acupuncture, medical technology, and hypnosis. Care may include an adjustment when it is indicated or requested. The primary work is functional health.
What is functional health?
A consultative look at root contributors — lifestyle, nutrition, prior conditions, and exam findings — rather than a single symptom label. Natural options first when they are honest; conventional care when it is safer.
What is his specialty?
Finding why you still feel unwell after a stack of visits. He reviews prior testing, history, lifestyle, and diet, then orders further testing only when it would change the plan.
